Kerry Cupit – KS3 & KS4 Teacher of Food & Nutrition
I started out at The Bicester School as a technician and am now undertaking my teacher training via a SCITT course with Oxfordshire teacher training.
I have a degree in nutrition and health and a PhD in food and nutritional sciences specialising in prebiotics and gut health but also many years experience in the hospitality sector. Teaching nutrition and food preparation is a perfect marrying of the two.
I enjoy spending time with my family and of course baking!
Alison Steptoe – Food & Nutrition Technician
After jobs in offices, microelectronic assembly and retail management, Ali decided she needed a new career and in 2005 applied for the post of trainee science technician at the Bicester School. She loves the opportunity to learn something new every day. The tasks a technician does can range from helping year 6 students on their transfer days to planning year 13 physics practicals. As from September 2019 Ali once again thought she “Kneaded” a little more spice in her career and took on the role of Food technician too. Outside work, Ali enjoys many styles of handicrafts and design. These hobbies have continued from her school days, when she started a handy crafts shop in Kidlington with her mum. More recent interests include Zumba fitness, swimming and travelling.
