Kwaku Antwi – Computer Science Teacher

After achieving 2:1 degree in BSc (Hons) Computer Communications and Networks from the University of Westminster, I worked as a computer network systems engineer for Iwantoneofthose.com for a number of years, where I gained experience providing server and desktop hardware and software support, which enhanced my academic knowledge with professional skills. I then returned to complete my PGCE in Computing at University of Bedfordshire to gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 2010.

Before joining The Bicester School in 2016, I taught Mathematics at KS3/KS4 in Bedford Academy, having previously taught Computing/ICT and ECDL in Slough Grammar School and in a number of schools in London.

In my spare time, when I’m not reading a novel by my favourite Author, Kate Hewitt, I get on my bicycle for a good leg stretch.

Rebecca Lawrence – Computer Science Teacher

On finishing my A Levels, I decided to take a gap year and returned to the UK a decade later after working in Germany and the US riding show jumping horses! I can speak German and Spanish as a result and took courses in Biology at the University of Guelph in Canada.

I then read Law at university and after graduating went on to complete the Legal Practice Course.   I did some pro bono human rights teaching in schools and enjoyed it so much I changed careers.  I have been teaching for 12 years now.

I started at the Bicester school two years ago as a cover supervisor but soon found that my love of learning drove me to take the CSA course from the National Centre for Computing Excellence and am now teaching Computing and Science.

In my free time I still ride horses and enjoy reading and Wordle.
