Drama students take part in workshop with theatre company
On Wednesday 15 November Miss Vine gave a group of Year 10 and 11 Drama students the opportunity to watch a performance and work with the theatre company ‘Paper Birds’.
After watching the innovative and thought-provoking performance called ‘In a Thousand Pieces’ the students worked on creating their own abstract movements under the guidance of one of the actors within the company.
Using techniques that Paper Birds use when creating their own shows, the students engaged with the material and created various sequences of a
bstract movements whilst working with pupils from The Cooper School. All students then created their own dialogue based on real people’s perspectives on sex-trafficking.
The students have come away with some great ideas to use within their own GCSE performances and a mature outlook on one of societies less talked about subjects.
