Year 7 Creative Technology Year Outline

Terms 1, 2 & 3 Students look at the work of Elizabeth Murray to be inspired to create abstract shapes. Music and creative thought takes place in this project, where students are taught to think on impulse and explore shape, pattern and colour.
Terms 4, 5 & 6 Students will have the opportunity to explore the traditional printmaking technique of monoprinting. Students will primarily look at typography and bold graphics to use within their prints.

Year 8 Creative Technology Year Outline

Terms 1, 2 & 3 Students will look at typography and learn how to turn simple sans serif text into bubble writing, and ‘break’ the letters to create a graffiti typeface of their own.
Terms 4, 5 & 6 Students will develop their 2D graffiti typeface in to a 3D sculpture, learning construction skills and the properties of modelling.

 

Year 9 Creative Technology Year Outline

Terms 1 & 2 Idioms project. Students will be looking at a range of artists and illustrators to create an illustrated idiom of their choice.
Terms 3 & 4 Students will work with acrylic paint to produce a painted letter inspired by the street artist, Ben Eine.
Terms 5 & 6 Book Cover Design. To prepare our students for their GCSE, this project is taught and delivered at a suitable level to be submitted as coursework at the end of year 11. Students will learn layout, design for print, and composition.
