A Level & vocational
Again The Bicester School is celebrating some wonderful A Level and vocational results! The results reflect the ambition, academic focus and holistic approach to student outcomes.
- Average A Level grade – C+
- Average vocational grade – Merit.
GCSE
- 67% achieved GCSE Maths at grade 4 and above
- 68% achieved GCSE English Language grade 4 and above
- 72% achieved GCSE Science grade 4 and above
- 65% of pupils achieved GCSE English and Maths at grade 4 or above
- 40% of pupils achieved GCSE English and Maths at grade 5 or above
- 43% of pupils entered for the EBacc
- 3.92 – average EBACC grade
- Progress 8: to be updated in November 2024 when the national figures are published
- Attainment 8: 44.8
For 2024, our NEETs are 1.56%.
Headteacher Tony Rushworth, said: “The students should be very proud of their achievements, especially given the turbulent nature of their early educational experience at secondary school when learning was disrupted by the Covid pandemic. We wish all of our students well in their next step.”

Destinations
This year students have gone on to some amazing apprenticeships, degree apprenticeship and university courses. Here’s where some of this year’s leavers are off to:
- Phoebe got A*, A, A in Art in Philosophy and Ethics, English Language and Literature, and is going to study Fine Art at Norwich.
- Iulia got A*, A, A, in Biology, Geography, Chemistry, and is going to study Pharmacy at Reading.
- Matias got A*,A* A, in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and is going to study Pre-Med in France at University of Clermont.
- Jack got A*, A*, A, A (AS) in Physics, Maths, Chemistry, History, and is going to study Physics at Warwick.
- Luca got A*, A, A in Biology, Maths, Chemistry, and is going to study Biology at Nottingham.
- Elizabeth got A*, A, B in History, Biology, English Literature, and is going to study History at UCL.
- Kiki got C, Distinction *, Distinction in Psychology, Applied Science and Health and Social Care, and is going to study Pharmacy at Kingston.
- We also have students going to apprenticeship positions at companies including:
- Maintenance Technician at Mini plant BMW
- Quantity Surveyor at Laing O’Rourke
- CNC Machine at Salesmade.
- We are enormously proud of all our Year 13s who have worked incredibly hard. All the work they have done in the Sixth Form here will ensure that they are ready for studying at university or apprenticeship level or going into employment this autumn. We wish them every success.
