The Bicester School celebrates GCSE results

Year 11 students at The Bicester School are celebrating this morning after receiving their GCSE results.

Eager students picked up their results from the Ofsted rated ‘Good’ school this morning, having waited anxiously over the summer.

We are so proud of all our students who have shone in so many ways in their time with us, academically and in sports, arts and by being active members of the school community. Their hard work and focus has resulted in the following results:

  • 68% grade 4+ in English Language
  • 67% grade 4+ in Maths
  • 64% 4+ English and Maths
  • 39% 5+ English and Maths

Notable grades include:

  • Lily Bishop – average grade 8
  • Isaac Babister – average grade 8.7.
  • Dahab Amin – average grade 8.6

  • Grace Bishop – average grade 7.4
  • James Kingsley – average grade 7.7

Headteacher at The Bicester School, Tony Rushworth, said: “Congratulations to our Year 11 GCSE students in achieving a very good set of results. The students should be very proud of their achievements, especially given the turbulent nature of their early educational experience at secondary school when learning was disrupted by the covid pandemic in Years 7 and 8. We wish all of our students well in their next step and look forward to welcoming many of them into our 6th form and Activate Colleges”.

Our vision is to ‘Transform Lives Through Learning’ and we look forward to welcoming our new cohort of Year 12 students into Sixth Form in September to continue our upwards trend of results and wish well to those going on to other post 16 destinations.

The Bicester School is continuing to support students by providing information, advice and guidance on GCSE results day.
