Students are celebrating today after receiving their A Level and vocational qualification results, with many securing places at leading universities, prestigious apprenticeships and a wide range of exciting post-18 destinations.
Year 13 students collected their results alongside friends, family members and staff on a day filled with pride, celebration and anticipation for the future. As students reflected on their achievements, they also looked ahead to the next chapter of their education, training and careers.
This year’s results highlight the dedication, resilience and ambition shown by students throughout their time in the sixth form, as well as the support provided by staff, parents and carers.
Strong results across A Levels and vocational qualifications
Students achieved a strong set of outcomes across both academic and vocational pathways.
A Level Results
- 20% of all grades were A to A*, representing a 7% improvement on 2025 results
- 45% of all grades were A to B*
- 68% of all grades were A to C*
- The average A Level grade was a C+
Vocational Results
- 37% of vocational grades were awarded Distinction or Distinction*
- 81% of qualifications were graded Merit or above
The results were celebrated across the sixth form, where students, staff and families came together to mark the achievements of the Class of 2026.
Headteacher Sam Knowlton congratulated students on their success and the determination they have shown throughout their studies.
“Today is a day to celebrate all of the achievements of our Year 13 students and recognise the hard work, resilience and ambition they have shown throughout their studies at The Bicester School.
We are delighted with this year’s results, which reflect our school motto, Aspire and Achieve.
These outcomes are a testament to the determination and commitment of our students, supported every step of the way by our dedicated staff and the unwavering encouragement of parents and carers. Together, they have created the conditions for success.
Whether our students are progressing to university, higher apprenticeships, employment or other exciting opportunities, they leave us with the knowledge, skills and confidence to thrive in the next stage of their journey. We are incredibly proud of all they have achieved and wish them every success in the future. We look forward to hearing about all they go on to accomplish.”
Several students achieved exceptional results and will now progress to some of the UK’s leading universities.
Among the top performers were:
- Isaac B, who achieved four A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and will study Physics at the University of Oxford
- Samuel V, who achieved four A* grades in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and will study Physics/Astrophysics at the University of Birmingham
- Phoebe A, who achieved two A* and an A in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics, and will study Biochemistry at the University of Bath
- Oscar N, who achieved two A*grades and one A in Biology, Mathematics and Physics, and will study Physics/Astrophysics at the University of Bristol
- Seren H, who achieved one A* and two A grades in Sociology, Biology and History, and will study Biological Sciences at the University of Liverpool
- Robson M, who achieved three A grades in Biology, History and Chemistry, and will study Biological Sciences at the University of Warwick
Alongside those progressing to university, a number of students have secured highly competitive apprenticeship opportunities.
Students will be pursuing a range of career pathways, including degree apprenticeships in Mechanical and Motorsport Engineering, Veterinary Nursing, and careers with the Royal Air Force.
A particularly memorable success story is that of twins Grace and Lilly B, whose futures will take them in very different directions. Lilly will be heading to the University of Warwick to study Physics, while Grace has secured a place at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) to study Performing Arts.
While many students have already secured their chosen destinations, The Bicester School continues to provide advice and guidance for those who are still considering their options and finalising plans for September.
