KS4 ART

During GCSE Art, students explore their own themes, and make connections to social development in personal ways. This journey gives our students a voice with which to express their thoughts on, feelings about and responses to, the world around them.

Portfolio of Skills – Project 1

Observational drawing and mark making. Students experiment with a variety of drawing tools, materials and techniques to accurately draw from observation.

Portfolio of Skills – Project 1

Painting skills and techniques. Students will be introduced to different paint techniques and collage to create both realism and abstract compositions.

Me and My Surroundings – Project 2

Students will be introduced to a variety of media to successfully realise intentions.

  • Banksy – street Art and urban decay, mixed media
  • Natalie Foss – emotive portraits and facial proportions

Year 11

Me and My Surroundings – extended phase

Students choose from one of the themes architecture, objects, urban decay or portraits and work independently and creatively to research, develop, experiment with ideas, processes and techniques and conclude with a final outcome.

Students sit the final exam of 10 hours divided over several days to produce a final outcome; concluding all their research, investigations, development and ideas. All work is submitted at the end of the 10 hours and the course concludes.
