KS4 DIGITAL IT

SUBJECT: BTEC Digital Information Technology

The Tech Award helps learners develop practical skills and knowledge in digital information technology through real-world scenarios. It focuses on four key areas:

  1. Skill Development: Learning project planning, designing user interfaces, and creating dashboards to present data.
  1. Effective Processes: Understanding project planning, iterative design, cyber security, virtual teams, and legal/ethical conduct.
  1. Important Attitudes: Emphasizing personal management and communication.
  1. Sector Knowledge: Knowing how user interfaces meet needs, how data is used for decisions, virtual workplaces, cyber security, and legal/ethical issues.

This award complements GCSE Computer Science by introducing project planning, user interface design, data presentation, and digital systems and is typically the first exam sat at the beginning of May. Pearson set controlled assessment course works are released twice a year.
