UNIFORM SUMMARY

Our uniform promotes belonging, equality and safety, while allowing students to express themselves appropriately within a clear and consistent framework. This policy applies to all students in Years 7–11

Throughout the school day, students should be dressed in full school uniform. Students are also expected to travel to and from school wearing the correct uniform. It should be remembered that while in uniform students are representatives of the school and are expected to follow school rules, whether or not they are on the school site

Core Uniform

Tops

• Plain white collared shirt, short or long sleeve with school burgundy tie
• Plain white blouse with a Revere collar, short or long sleeve, no tie
• School jumper with school logo
• Optional school blazer (school‑approved)

Bottoms

• Black or grey tailored trousers

For comfort, smart black stretch trousers may be worn if not see‑through

• Black or grey tailored shorts

• Black or grey pleated skirt worn with black leggings or 40+ denier tights

1. Skirts must be no shorter than fingertip length when standing if worn without leggings or tights
2. Leggings must be worn with a skirt and not by themselves

Footwear

• Plain black shoes or plain black trainers must be black and polishable (including leather/faux‑leather) to support comfort, foot health and long walking distances
• Black boots permitted in winter for safety and warmth
• No open‑toe footwear or crocs or slip- ons for safety reasons

• School PE top with logo
• School PE shorts or skort or black shorts, or black sports leggings or black tracksuit bottoms
• School PE long socks or plain black long PE socks
• Trainers suitable for indoor and outdoor sport
• Gum guard for Hockey and Rugby
• Shin pads for Football, Hockey, Rugby
• Football boots for Rugby, Football, Hockey

Jewellery, hair and make-up

Jewellery worn should reflect the business-rich ethos of a school in our Trust

• Pupils are limited to two ear studs in each ear only. Ear bars are not permitted.
• Where pupils choose to wear wrist watches, these must not have social media, texting or telephone calls or receiving capabilities.
• Facial jewellery is restricted to one discreet nose stud.  No other facial jewellery, including nose rings, tongue or eyebrow piercings are permitted, as these represent a health and safety risk in school when mixing with other students at social times and in PE and other practical subjects such as drama.
• All jewellery, including piercings and watches must be removed or taped before pupils participate in PE lessons or sports events.
• Long hair must be tied back for science, food, PE and other practical lessons. Extreme hairstyles are not permitted.
• Students may wear discreet make-up suitable for the professional workplace.
• Nails of excessive length are not permitted. Fake nails (including acrylics, gels, builder gel, press‑ons and extensions) are not permitted for health and safety reasons, particularly in PE, science, food technology and other practical subjects where long or rigid nails increase the risk of injury. Students may wear short, natural‑length nails (polished or unpolished) as a safe way to express themselves. Nail polish or gel polish is allowed if subtle and non‑distracting
• Religious and cultural dress is welcomed and supported provided it aligns with the school’s uniform requirements in colour, style, and safety.

Summer Uniform

During particularly hot spells students will be permitted to remove their ties and jumpers – this will be communicated through tutors and teachers.  Students should dress appropriately utilising the options for tailored shorts and skirts of fingertip length

Affordability

To keep uniform accessible:

• Only three branded items are required from our school suppliers PMG PMG Schoolwear – Schools – The Bicester School – Bicester (school jumper, school tie and school PE top)
• All other uniform items could be purchased from any supermarket or high‑street retailer
• There is a school‑run second‑hand uniform shop available year‑round
• No item will be changed without consultation
