TBS takes to the slopes

An unforgettable ski adventure took place during the Easter holidays, when 41 adventurous pupils embarked on a thrilling week-long ski and snowboarding trip to the stunning Italian Alps.

Their destination was the picturesque village of La Thuile, nestled in the Aosta Valley and watched over by the iconic Mont Blanc. From seasoned snowboarders to first-time skiers, students began their journey at ski school, grouped by ability. Over the course of the week their progress was nothing short of phenomenal. Beginners graduated from the nursery slopes to confidently skiing blue runs that crossed into France, while advanced groups tackled challenging red and black runs – including a renowned black run featured in the Ski World Cup.

The conditions couldn’t have been better. Clear blue skies, fresh snow and wide-open pistes created the perfect environment to enjoy the resort’s 152 kilometres of ski terrain. But beyond the technical achievements on the slopes, this trip offered so much more. It gave students the chance to step out of their comfort zones, develop resilience, forge new friendships, and grow in confidence – qualities that will stay with them long after the snow has melted.

Apres-ski activities brought just as much excitement and laughter. Pupils enjoyed ice skating at an Olympic rink, an evening of sports, a visit to Courmayeur for delicious fresh crepes, and a lively pizza night at a local restaurant. A highlight of each day was the presentation of the ‘Legend’ and ‘Moose on the Loose’ awards, recognising acts of kindness, humorous moments, and the occasional teacher mishap (we’re looking at you, Mr Jardine!).

Two birthdays were celebrating during the week and events were wrapped up in true TBS style with ‘Fancy Dress Friday’.

A huge thank you goes to the amazing team of staff who made the trip possible. These trips truly take a team effort, and we are grateful for the dedication of our staff across the board.

To our pupils – you were outstanding ambassadors for TBS. We received glowing feedback from ski instructors, hotel staff, our trip coordinator (who’s eager to work with us again!), and even our bus drivers. Your resilience, respect, and responsibility made us proud.

And finally, thanks to Interski for helping us deliver our seventh successful TBS ski trip. The countdown to Andorra 2026 is now officially on!
